Terms of Service

Ownwrk is a career-record platform designed to help you capture, organize, understand, and use information about your work, impact, recognition, and professional experience.

Ownwrk may provide tools for recording career information, organizing work history, creating resumes and summaries, identifying themes, generating an Overview, and sharing selected information.

Some features use artificial intelligence and may automatically generate or update information based on the content in your account.

Ownwrk is intended to help you maintain and use your own career record. It is not an employer, recruiter, employment agency, financial adviser, legal adviser, or professional career adviser.

You must provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of the account you use to access Ownwrk.
• Keeping your account information reasonably current.
• Activities that occur through your account.
• Taking reasonable precautions when sharing information or links generated through Ownwrk.

You may not use another person's account without authorization.

Ownwrk currently uses supported third-party authentication services to authenticate users.

You retain ownership of the content and information you add to Ownwrk.

This may include your Impact entries, Recognition entries, work history, notes, resume content, uploaded materials, and other information you choose to provide.

You give Ownwrk a limited permission to host, store, process, reproduce, display, and transmit your content only as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate Ownwrk.
• Provide the features you use.
• Generate and update information within your account.
• Maintain and secure the service.
• Provide support.
• Comply with applicable law.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload, store, or share the content you add to Ownwrk.

You must not upload content that unlawfully infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.

Ownwrk is a paid subscription service. We currently offer monthly and yearly subscription options. Available plans, pricing, billing intervals, and applicable taxes are shown before purchase.

Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Stripe, our payment processor, to charge your selected payment method for the subscription price and applicable taxes at the billing interval you select.

Your subscription price and billing interval will be presented to you before you complete your purchase.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Ownwrk does not directly store your complete payment card information.

You are responsible for providing valid payment information and keeping your payment method current.

If a payment cannot be completed, we or Stripe may attempt to process the payment again. We may suspend or restrict paid access if payment remains unsuccessful.

Monthly subscriptions renew each month and yearly subscriptions renew each year unless cancelled before the applicable renewal date.

By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel the subscription.

The applicable renewal date and subscription information can be viewed through the subscription or Membership controls available in Ownwrk or through the applicable Stripe billing interface.

You may cancel your subscription through the Membership or subscription-management controls provided by Ownwrk.

Cancelling stops future automatic renewal. Unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation or required by applicable law, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period and you may continue using your paid subscription until that period ends.

Cancelling a subscription is different from deleting your Ownwrk account. Cancellation does not, by itself, constitute a request to delete your account or career information.

Account deletion is addressed separately below.

Except where required by applicable law or where Ownwrk expressly states otherwise, subscription payments are non-refundable once charged.

We do not ordinarily provide prorated refunds or credits for partially used billing periods.

Nothing in these Terms limits any cancellation, refund, or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

If we make a refund available in a particular circumstance, doing so does not create an obligation to provide the same refund in other circumstances.

We may change subscription pricing in the future.

A price change will not retroactively change amounts you have already paid. Where a price increase would apply to a future renewal of your subscription, we will provide notice as required by applicable law and give you an opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

Changes in taxes or government-imposed charges may apply as required by law.

Ownwrk uses artificial intelligence for specific features, including generating or updating your Overview, identifying themes in your career information, and creating certain summaries within your resume or work history.

Some AI processing may occur automatically when you add, edit, or remove relevant information. You may not be asked to initiate each individual AI operation.

Relevant portions of your content may be processed by an AI service provider as described in our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise unsuitable for your circumstances.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it, submitting it to another person, publishing it, or using it in connection with employment or career decisions.

Ownwrk does not guarantee that AI-generated information accurately represents your experience, qualifications, achievements, or suitability for any role.

Ownwrk's AI features do not make hiring decisions, employment decisions, or other decisions on behalf of employers.

Your Ownwrk information is private by default unless you choose to share it using a feature provided by Ownwrk.

If you create a Shareable Page or use another sharing feature, you are responsible for:

• Selecting what information you choose to share.
• Choosing any available privacy or password settings.
• Deciding who receives access.
• Ensuring you have the right to share the information you make available.

You can stop sharing information using the controls provided by Ownwrk, where available.

We cannot control information another person has already viewed, copied, downloaded, recorded, or otherwise retained after you chose to share it.

You may not use Ownwrk to:

• Violate applicable law.
• Infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Ownwrk or another person's account.
• Interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the service.
• Introduce malware, malicious code, or harmful automated activity.
• Scrape, crawl, probe, attack, or reverse engineer Ownwrk except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
• Circumvent security controls or usage restrictions.
• Use the service fraudulently or deceptively.
• Use Ownwrk in a way that creates an unreasonable technical burden on the service.

Any reference to “unlimited” use of a feature means reasonable use of that feature through the ordinary functionality of Ownwrk. It does not permit automated abuse, excessive activity that threatens service stability, or circumvention of technical safeguards.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, Ownwrk, or third parties.

We work to keep Ownwrk available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Ownwrk may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, third-party services, security incidents, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, add, remove, or replace features as Ownwrk evolves.

We may discontinue individual features where reasonably necessary. Where a material change significantly affects a paid subscription, we will provide notice where reasonably practicable or where required by applicable law.

If Ownwrk permanently discontinues the paid service, we will address any unused prepaid subscription period in accordance with applicable law and any notice provided at that time.

Ownwrk relies on third-party services to provide portions of the service.

These may include services for authentication, infrastructure, payments, and artificial intelligence.

Current providers include Google Firebase for authentication and related application services, Stripe for subscription and payment processing, and OpenAI for certain AI-powered functionality.

Your use of third-party services may also be subject to those providers' applicable terms or privacy policies.

We are not responsible for outages, failures, or changes to third-party services outside our reasonable control.

You may request deletion of your Ownwrk account using the account controls provided in the service.

Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions. If you have an active paid subscription, you should ensure that the subscription is cancelled when you no longer wish it to renew.

When an account is deleted, we take steps to delete or de-identify account information and career content that we no longer need, subject to technical limitations and information that we are permitted or required to retain.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, fraud-prevention systems, security records, or systems operated by our service providers before being removed through normal retention processes.

We may retain limited subscription, transaction, accounting, tax, dispute, or legal records after account deletion where reasonably necessary or legally required.

Ownwrk, including its software, interface, design, branding, functionality, graphics, and other materials created by us, is owned by or licensed to Wemaiq Inc. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of Ownwrk or our intellectual property.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use Ownwrk in accordance with these Terms for as long as you are authorized to use the service.

Your content remains yours as described in these Terms.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations about Ownwrk, you permit us to use that feedback to improve or develop the service without payment or obligation to you.

This does not give us ownership of your private career content.

Ownwrk is a tool for recording, organizing, understanding, and communicating your professional experience.

We do not guarantee:

• Employment.
• Interviews.
• Promotions.
• Compensation increases.
• Career advancement.
• Accuracy of employer decisions.
• Acceptance of resumes or other materials generated using Ownwrk.
• Any particular professional or financial outcome.

You remain responsible for decisions you make using information stored or generated through Ownwrk.

To the extent permitted by law, Ownwrk is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will always be available.
• The service will be free from errors.
• AI-generated information will always be accurate.
• Stored information will never be lost.
• Ownwrk will meet every user's particular requirements.

We do not exclude warranties, conditions, rights, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wemaiq Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of Ownwrk.

This may include loss of opportunity, employment, income, profits, data, reputation, or business arising from use of or inability to use the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to Ownwrk or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Ownwrk during the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim or CAD $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access to Ownwrk if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the service, create a security risk, fail to pay amounts due, or use Ownwrk unlawfully.

Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to remedy the issue before termination.

We may act immediately where necessary to protect Ownwrk, our users, third parties, or the security of the service.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory consumer protections or other rights that apply to you under applicable law.

We may update these Terms as Ownwrk changes.

When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.

If we make a material change that significantly affects your rights or obligations, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or where required by applicable law.

Changes will not retroactively alter payment obligations that have already arisen.

Continued use of Ownwrk after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly presented to you when purchasing or using a particular feature, form the agreement between you and Wemaiq Inc. concerning Ownwrk.

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Ownwrk is operated by Wemaiq Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada.
